15/1/2020· Interfacing MQ4 Sensor with NodeMCU ESP8266. Before we get into the main project, we have to calibrate the MQ4 sensor so that we can measure the ppm value from the gas sensor. Connect your gas sensor with NodeMCU as shown in the below image. The VCC and GND pin of the Sensor Module is connected to the Vin of NodeMCU.

Interfacing of MQ135 Gas Sensor with Arduino: In today’s world, we encounter different scenario where we see different gasses being emitted in atmosphere such as home appliances like air conditioner and industrial chimneys. Monitoring of these gasses is very important with safety point of view. Gas Sensors are very helpful in accomplishing this task.

In our case, we will be using MQ4 Gas sensor which can measure Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Hydrogen (H2), Carbon Monoxide (Co) and smoke concentrations. MQ series sensor uses a small heater inside with an electrochemical sensor in order to measure a different kind of gases combination.

In this guide, we learn how to interface MQ5 Gas sensor (which is a generic Gas Sensor more suited to detect and determine LPG concentrations) with Arduino. In this tutorial, we are using the MQ5 Gas sensor module (which is widely available in market) . This module has two output possibilities – an analog out (A0) and a digital out (D0).
